For Urvashi Kaur, the passion for arts and design was one that was passed on to her like family heirloom from her parents and grandparents. A father who took the family around the world and a mother who grew up at the peak of the fashion and art movement in Paris in the 1960s, gave Kaur an early exposure to the world like no other. Even today, Kaur credits much of her design and aesthetic sense to this eclectic upbringing.
Urvashi Kaur’s label produces androgynous clothing. With earthy, muted colours, playful layering and beautiful drapery, these pieces don't adhere to a certain aesthetic, and are perfect for layering. They are a culmination of Kaur’s journey of self-discovery, her deep understanding of different cultures, and an ode to Indian crafts.
For him and her; from the office to the party; there are a scant few things that miss Urvashi Kaur's remarkable oeuvre.
Urvashi Kaur’s clothing, with its structured cuts and fluid silhouettes, embodies an aesthetic that is gender fluid and trans-seasonal.
