Rini Agarwal is the founder of O’Frida, a brand that is young, chic and effortless. Her brand features off beat jackets, breezy co-ord sets and fun anti-fit dresses. Agarwal’s design process begins with a feeling or an idea, which she explores through visualising the piece and then sketching it out. Then come mood boards of different directions the concept could go in, followed by deciding upon a colour palette, looking through different fabric swatches, and finally creating samples.
In recent times, another important factor when designing is the globally rising temperatures. It’s the fabric choice that becomes most important. From here, the look is decided and the mood board is created. The garments she creates in this way have comfortable, modern silhouettes; artisanal, handcrafted roots; and, for the most part, are made of breathable fabrics like cotton with no polyester blend. The prints for these garments are created in-house.
The pure freedom of free visualisation is the name of the game for Rini Agarwal, the founder of O’Frida. Her process is a painstaking recreation of a visual dream.
