Anupriya Biyani's childhood fascination for sarees eventually led to the creation of Aeka, a brand with a unique design identity. The Sanskrit term aeka not only conjures the image of goddess Durga, but also evokes the spirit of the one, the matchless. It is this energy that Bengaluru-based designer Anupriya Biyani channels into her clothing brand. She runs Aeka mostly by herself, and presents sustainable fabrics with soft yet confident designs.
She launched Aeka at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in 2019, where the brand’s designs were presented over the nine different days of the Festival. Biyani says that the brand is an ode to linen, her favourite fabric. Aeka believes in taking conscious steps towards sustainable endeavours, however small. Biyani’s idea is to cater to the young, conscious consumer, and in making Aeka the brand they would want to invest in. She believes that the truly timeless garments are those that are most versatile.
Think prints, think bold and think fun. Shirts for men, flirty dresses for women, Aeka forays with ease and elegance.
Aeka is Sanskrit for the number one. It denotes the matchless zeal with which the brand approaches linen, the designer’s favourite fabric, to make sustainable designs for young and environmentally conscious consumers.
