Mina Ben studied biochemistry in college, but she found her true calling in knitting—something the women in her family had an unusual flair for. Now, Mina Ben is an entrepreneur. She finds aspiring artists from different locations, arranges training sessions for them, and then provides them with work. She teaches them how to create products like her famous hats.
Mina Ben’s work tools are minimal; all one needs to copy a Mina Ben is a hook (in crochet) or hooks (in knitting), a thread and a scissor. But it’s in the design and technique where a copycat will falter. There are a plethora of stitches that the imitator will have to learn–simple ones like the the half, double, half-double and triple stitch or the more complex ones like puff, chain, rose, crocodile and alpine stitch.
Mina Ben burst into the scene with a hat seen on Hailey Bieber's head on the cover of American Vogue. Since then, there has been no looking back.
