Working closely with natural dyes and the shibori techniques motivated Dipika Udhani to start working on apparel of her own, and launch her label Adheera. With free-flowing, anti-fit silhouettes, Adheera garments almost float around the body. The clothes don't ‘stick to the body’ according to her, so one doesn't have to worry about fit, or tailoring. They have a sort of ethereal comfort, which allows the garments to stand on their own, and don't need to be styled in a certain way.
In her process, she believes in giving back to the environment and doesn't want to stray away from that whatsoever, going forward. Adheera only creates pieces on a made-to-order basis. There are no excess garments in stock. They are upcycling their production waster from earlier collections, and are even creating jewellery and accessories from it.
Adheera crafts garments that are earthy and free-flowing with delicate shibori designs, in a process that is deeply rooted in sustainability.
